Driving Range

Sedgley Golf Centre offers academy type facilities for golfers of all standards. The ideal place to groove your swing is on our 20 bay floodlit driving range. 19 of the bays are fitted with automated power tees; there are 2 left-handed bays. Golf balls are uniform and replaced every 6 months. 8 bays are heated for those cold winter nights.

The range is sited on a flat field measuring 300 yards in length and 200 yards in width. In order to make your practice more interesting six target greens have been constructed at distances ranging from 30 yards to 190 yards. Balls are competitively priced at £3.00 for 50 balls; £5.00 for 100 balls. A warm up basket containing 15 balls can be purchased for £1.00.

A 3 bay teaching area has recently been constructed for the use of our resident Teaching Professional, Garry Mercer. This facility permits you to receive tuition in privacy. The large teaching area enables Garry to use video analysis as well as a launch monitor in order to provide an accurate assessment of your swing.

Lessons can be booked from 10.30am until 9.00pm, Monday to Saturday, at a cost of £15.00 per 30 minute lesson. Group lessons (maximum 6 people) can be booked at a cost of £20.00 for four 1 hour sessions. Saturday is junior lesson day. Lessons of 1 hour duration are given to juniors aged from 5 to 16 years of age at a cost of £5.00, including a free basket of golf balls. We are in the process of completing a putting green and a short-game practice area.

This are features a large green with practice bunkers around. All aspects of short game play can be practiced here. Garry Mercer will also teach short game and putting techniques here. We also offer grass practice facilities for those keen to practice their fairway shots on a natural surface. After your practice or your round of golf why not come in to the clubhouse where a variety of hot and cold snacks and drinks are available.
